"Language barrier"

I attended the shop to drop 3 Yodel parcels. I previously have declared how many parcels I have to send as I approach the counter. I also purchased a bottle of Tango pop @ £1.25. I paid cash before starting the parcel process. I found it very difficult to communicate with the chap that was serving on the counter. He did 1 at a time because I do not feel he understood I had 3 parcels in total & then when I picked my purchase up he wanted to charge me again & I explained I had already paid for it. I felt very uncomfortable taking the pop even though I had paid for it. His English was very poor..
